Using Backyard Oven Notes means agreeing to the rules below. They are short; the oven is hot and nobody wants to read long.

Our oven, your patio

Every bake is editorial writing about pizzas and fires we made in our own small ovens, offered as general method for a general reader. It is not instruction for your specific oven, fuel, patio or household, and it does not replace the manufacturer's manual, local fire regulations, or your own judgement. A pizza oven runs at temperatures that damage skin, ignite nearby materials and produce smoke and embers; operating one, siting it, keeping children and pets clear, having water to hand, and knowing your local rules on open fires and smoke are entirely your responsibility, not a website's. Read the manual first, always.

Whose bakes these are

The text, illustrations and design belong to Backyard Oven Notes. Link freely, quote a line or two with credit and a link back, and ask in writing before republishing a bake in full or lightly rewritten.

Fair use of the site

No unlawful use, no attempts to break or overload the site, and no bulk scraping of its contents.

The limits of a notebook

We keep the bakes accurate and current as best we can and correct what we get wrong. We cannot warrant that every method suits every oven, flour or evening, and, to the extent the law allows, Backyard Oven Notes accepts no liability for harm or loss connected with use of the site.
